Elke GX4816 is uitgerust met 48 dLive-microfoonvoorversterkers met onafhankelijke Phantom Power LED-indicatoren, plus 16 XLR-lijnuitgangen. Daarnaast zijn er 2 DX-poorten beschikbaar voor aansluiting op maximaal 4 DX Expanders voor verdere I/O-uitbreiding. Aansluiting op een ME Personal Mixing System is mogelijk via de DX2-aansluiting wanneer gebruikt met SQ-, dLive- en Avantis-systemen.
De GX4816 wordt verbonden via een enkele Cat5e-kabel met een SLink-aansluiting op een SQ, Avantis of AHM-64, of met een gigaACE-audionetwerkkaart op een dLive-systeem. Aansluiting op DX Expanders en het ME Personal Mixing System gebeurt ook via een Cat5e-kabel.
